Fall Time
The next couple of months is my favorite time of the year. The air starts to get a little cooler, the park days can last longer, it is football season, Halloween Horror Nights, more golf, and even a few cruises coming in the next couple of months. It is a great time to be living in Orlando.
Halloween Horror Nights is the best event that any theme park has. For cheaper than a regular park ticket you can take part in one of these nights and the popularity has begun to climb and climb. September is not my favorite time to go to Horror Nights because it is still inside the rainy season of Orlando, which could have your event flooded. I have been that person to walk in wet shoes and wet clothes because I paid a lot of money to be here, I can’t just leave. Be sure to bring ponchos, rain jackets, or an umbrella to the event. This can save you from a lot of uncomfortable lines. This is also a very high energy event. Almost everywhere you look can have something going on and it can be a bit overwhelming at times. For me, I have been overwhelmed in a previous year where I came on the first weekend of September and we sat in a corner for a big portion of the event which was not fun. Only doing two houses. I never thought I would go again after that night, but I moved to Orlando and have gone every year since they opened the event back up after COVID. It is something I look forward to every year as well. To try new tactics, to try new food, to see which houses are my favorites. We usually do a staycation at one of the hotels which has always been fun. After that one big Friday or Saturday night we typically go during the week during a stay and scream for a couple of houses with people we know. We went even more when the event at the Hellfire Club sandwich which was the best food item that Universal has ever had. Spending time with people you enjoy being around is always so much fun.
In other theme park news, I am excited about going to Epic Universe. Adding to this, I am excited about going to Epic Universe out of the heat. This theme park is brand new, without mature trees so the shading is a bit lackluster. I am going to enjoy it when the sun isn’t blaring down. Even though the sun and the heat might disappear for a few days in the next few months and really deliver some strong fall days and fall nights. I am very excited for these nights and I hope I can be at Epic or Halloween Horror Nights on one of them.
Next month is going to be the start of three consecutive cruises for each month. These cruises will be the third, fourth, and fifth cruises of the year. When I think back through my life, this was something I could never dream of. I remember when I first moved to Orlando, I didn’t go on any cruises in 2021. This was my first year without cruising and it was also the mark of the first year where I had to pay my own way for cruising. 2022 I went on one. 2023 was a huge step with three. 2024 was another huge step with four, and 2025 will be my first five cruise year. I think I will be taking a break from cruising after this last cruise. I want to save my money and go to more exotic locations rather than Bahamas weekend cruises. Even though they are convenient. Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska are the three that come to my mind. I am also a travel agent now, which does help out with costs a little bit. Weekend cruises out of Canaveral are just so easy. A great way to take a break and get away from the spreadsheets and commuting of real life.
I just ordered new golf clubs for my newest hobby. I have played it so much, poured in more and more money, and now I finally feel strongly enough to buy new clubs to try and better my game even more. Secondhand purchase of course, but I am excited like they are brand new. The fall evenings while enjoying this hobby will be excellent. I can’t wait.
I wish I was saying I am excited for my marathon coming up in January, but I sadly cannot. I guess I can add the fall nights of pickleball will be fantastic too.
One of the largest reasons I love fall is fantasy football season. This happens once a year for just not enough weeks. It is my favorite hobby and one that I have played for almost 20 years now. I started young. Group chats with my friends are more active, watching games on Sundays, after long runs last year was incredible. I am so excited for the season, I can’t believe it is here already, and I feel like it took too long to get here as well.
Just writing this is getting me excited about the next couple of months. The summer has been nice, I have made some great memories, but this time of year will always be my favorite. Of course, I will be blogging and documenting my fall, it is going to be great!
