Epic Universe Attractions Ranked
This park is full of incredible attractions. They are creative, they are fun, some can be intense. I have been on most of these attractions more than once so what are my thoughts on the attraction list of Epic Universe.
Constellation Carousel- Unfortunately the only ride I have not ridden in Epic Universe. During the days I went it would be over forty-minute waits so maybe one day I could have the time to do it. Just not during my visits.
Fyre Drill-Just a slow-moving attraction with some interactives but I am really missing the score keeping in this type of attraction. I love that they tried to be creative with the size this ride could take up, but it just moves WAYY too slow for me. It will be a skip on most visits to this park.
Dragon’s Racer Rally- Two attractions in Berk bring up the rear of this list. This is a fine attraction, with a little twist. The goal is to flip the ride vehicle, but the capacity makes this line drag by and it isn’t a long attraction at all. Mediocre attraction in an incredible land.
Yoshi’s Adventure- Sadly another ride that is killed by how slow it is. You get some unique views of Nintendo World, but the attraction is so slow that it misses the mark on a Peoplemover. If it was quicker in speed, and a longer ride time that travels a larger area with similar show scenes this attraction would be incredible.
Donkey Kong’s Mine Cart Madness- The Donkey Kong area is one that I won’t be enjoying all that often. The special food item is not very good, and this attraction is fun… But just not one I will ride over and over again. The capacity is horrible, the line moves so SLOW. Once on the ride it was a little bit too rough for me. There are some really cool show scenes that are just ruined by bumpiness for me.
Curse of the Werewolf- I just have fun on this coaster. It is a very smooth and spinning coaster and one that I could ride multiple times over. Some fun show scenes at night but during the day it is pretty underwhelming. A fun coaster. A little short, but fun.
Le Cirque Arcanus- The first theater show on the list. It is a great break. There are amazing effects, but I wish the preshow was a bit shorter. Standing in the huge crowd is a bit uncomfortable. A theater show with a preshow is a bit odd. It does set up the plot well though and has great effects. Just a little longer in the crowds.
Mario Kart- This ride is up and down for me. The first ride for me was too chaotic. Too long of a wait. It has started to grow on me. It is just fun. I love a competition part involved with an attraction, one portion that is missing in Fyre Drill. I feel like it could be better of an attraction. It is a bit chaotic, but I do like the physical sets. I just wish the goggles weren’t as heavy and it was faster. I enjoyed it more my second ride through.
The Untrainable Dragon- I love a good show. This might have some cheesy portions but wow there are some incredible showcases of puppetry. It is fun, a great show to round out the offerings at Epic Universe.
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders- Another set of Berk attractions back-to-back. This is an incredible land with the number of attractions and quality of theming it has. I love that this roller coaster gets showcased within the land and you get to enjoy the land while on the attraction. You get to hear the great theme music from How to Train your Dragon and it is fun. A baby Hagrid coaster. Not as many thrills, not as many physical sets but it is a similar comparison.
Now we hit the top three. These three SHOULD be at the top of everyone’s list. Just in different order because three really stand above all.
The Battle of the Ministry of Magic- Harry is back! This ride is marketed as their most ambitious ride to date, and it showcases some top-of-the-line animatronics and ride vehicles. The physical sets are pretty magnificent too. My only gripe is the amount of reliance on screens this attraction has. I don’t mind the screens. If the scene doesn’t revolve around screens entirely. This ride leans too much on it. The queue is also one of a kind and has some jaw dropping moments. MASSIVE ride though. The scale is something incredible which belongs on the top three attractions.
Stardust Racers- This ride is the Velocicoaster and Dueling Dragons hybrid. Two of my favorite coasters that Universal has ever had on offer. The ride is insane. The dueling is insane. Both tracks. Both times of day. At nighttime, this really takes on a whole new life. The views around the park it shows are incredible and the way you can see the coaster all through Celestial Park while it is glowing around the track looks amazing. This is the best roller coaster in Orlando. Universal has done it again with an incredible coaster.
Monsters Unchained- This ride. The queue. The way the story is built up in the land at night, and in the queue is just incredible. The scale of some of these scenes, the fluidity of the animatronics. The creativity of the different scares. The ease that the story flows, unlike the Ministry of Magic. This ride also doesn’t rely heavy on screens. The story is amplified by screens but most of the action is in the physical sets. One of the best rides I have ever been on. Easily.
The top three attractions alone will drive heavy crowds to Epic Universe. Three of the best attractions ever made by a theme park and it blows my mind that they have several more quality attractions to support these three heavy hitters. Please. Please. Please stay up on maintaining these three attractions and let people enjoy these attractions the way you created them.
