The Queues of Halloween Horror Nights: Are they Any Good?

No

Waiting in line is horrible enough already but when Halloween Horror Nights come the wait time is amplified with limited time offerings and different queues that let’s just say, lack theming. Add in the heat of Florida to this event and it turns into a horror film. Most queues at HHN are just extended queues but some are able to separate themselves slightly. Here are the queues of Horror Nights ranked.

I went back and forth on this one, not knowing which one to put at one or two. But coming in at number one, I have Major Sweets. Mainly because it is the Fast and Furious queue which takes advantage of details that no other line has as well as air conditioning that only one other line has. It also isn’t just down and backs the entire time, it snakes around all over with only a few switchbacks which I love. But it’s mostly number one due to air conditioning.

Second on the list is Monstrous with one huge reason. A big portion of the line is in a soundstage filled with switchbacks. To get out of the heat of horror nights can help so much. Especially early on in the event while the sun is still shining. The reason why it is number two is that there is nothing to look at, it’s just four bare walls. I think Universal could put a more popular house in this queue and utilize this room fully, project a screen on the wall and play the source material. Could be fun but obviously I am just some random blogger that has no idea what’s in the contracts of these IP houses. Could they play the source material in line? I’m not sure. It would be a very fun idea though to liven up that area.

Keeping along the same lines, The Quiet Place queue in front of Rockit does this as they play promotional material on the screens by the stage. You can also see the merge point between standby and express by the Rockit bathrooms so you can sort of gauge how long the wait is. Lots of things to look at as well, promotional items on the screens, Rockit zooming around, and people watching of course.  This also doesn’t have the long walk like other soundstage houses. Unfortunately, the indoor queues are gone.

Slaughter Sinema is next, similarly to Quiet Place, you have a screen to watch, as well as the drive-in details at the front of the queue. Still not fun to wait in.

Goblins and Monsters have the same queue so it’s best to put them side by side. Very similar to Slaughter Sinema but you have to walk around the entire Men in Black building just to get to this queue.

Museum is next. Shaded but it’s in parts of Simpson’s queue where no breeze can come in. So it just gets really stuffy. No a/c no breeze, nothing to look at.

Triplets is leading the worst of the worst tier as it doesn’t have as many switchbacks. That’s it. Nothing good about this queue.

The worst two lines at Halloween Horror Nights we have Ghostbusters and Insidious, two soundstages in front of the park and equally terrible. Long lines, switchbacks, and not much to look at. Of course, these are two of the most popular ones, too.

Overall, none of these HHN queues will be winning any award on the best queue in Central Florida but some are definitely better can others. Maybe prioritize the worst queues to do them earlier in the event or do them last. While do the best ones with A/C when they have high waits.
