Making a Business Part iii

ree

It’s funny the day I wrote last week’s blog, and I was saying how big the block was to get over making a TikTok and how it was so easy. Well. I made a TikTok in 9 minutes about my journey of running for the Disney marathon. Very easy to make. I just had to get STARTED. Every businessperson has always said that the most. Consistency and starting.

The next day I made 4 more TikToks in 46 minutes and posted one that is almost to a thousand views which is pretty good for me. I hover around 200. It is just so wild to me how the brain works because I was stuck for several days and it took 10 minutes. I said I would make 4 the next day in my notes but I did not. I focused on other socials, marketing, and blogs because I love writing blogs.

Speaking of marketing I have started to learn some marketing. Still don’t know much but I’m on the right track. I listened to a Gary V podcast about marketing and document over-creation is appealing to me. I have also lined up several of his decks and YouTube videos explaining his content formula for a good marketing stream. So, if I read and USE his model. Big distinction there I could have success in my content. Cheap vacations. Saving money. It’s a great idea! I have knowledge and I love saving money and NOT going into debt, so I am very passionate about this. I will continue writing about this journey if it works!

More marketing. This has been good reading material. Make something called Pillar content that is long and chop it up for micro pieces of content. Could be a podcast, YouTube video, long blog and then chop up the best parts the most marketable parts and post them everywhere.

One of my favorite YouTubers, Caleb Hammer has been doing a masterful job at this. His pillar content is an hour-long interview with the Public which can get VERY marketable with how crazy some people are. And he takes full advantage and is great at marketing. He now has two courses, a Patreon, and just has done a great job leveraging his audience to filter into more projects. Could I make a podcast about helping people find budgets for vacations? I’m not sure. I haven’t started and have no audience.

I am in deep. I am excited about it. It is making me come up with more ideas for my version of this pillar content and how to break it up. Make Facebook more poppy than others more controversial, more polarizing, make it more shareable. It is fun to look at how platforms are used for marketing and fun to see content strategies broken down so well. Make them unique to the platform and engage engage engage. While scrolling notice trends and see if I can make something tie into my niche. This knowledge has made me feel better. I am still far away from where I need to be, but I can see success stories with it.

This blog is all over the place.

More marketing

Post the pillars at a certain time and then post micro immediately after so it can be a flow of traffic from micro, cast your nets everywhere to bring it back in the boat and show them what you want to show them. Learning marketing has been a huge item this week, especially on this random Wednesday. Learning the correct amounts to post, what to post, when to post.

IG 1-2 times a day

FB once a day

TT: 1-4 a day

X 2-5 a day

YT: 1 per week 1-3 shorts

Blog: 15 times a month have 4X as many organic reads. Seems like WAY too much but it’s interesting.

And Engage engage engage

I can feel myself improving in this area. I started from 0 in marketing. A terrible marketer. Now I am just a REALLY BAD marketer but I’m starting to receive better strategies. Posting in an easily replicated model is something I need to try my best to create next week.

Remember that during the goal planning for next week, SOPs should be in place and engaging in the community. Over enough time I guarantee I will experience growth. I have 0 followers on most so I can guarantee 0 to 1 from a bot. New strategies to improve always have me very excited and this is no different. The shiny object has disappeared.

I have really enjoyed the process of getting depth elsewhere not just going on into the next shiny object business. Working on a different aspect to improve is a great way in my mind to make something more fun. Next up: read 270 slide deck about making 64 pieces of content in a day. Which is just mind blowing. I like GaryVee, I think he is a great marketer and great at content. Maybe mine will come if I follow it just have to try try try.

I also stumbled across a video called 30 Years of Business in 2 hours and 26 minutes on YouTube for free so that is my homework for the weekend to get that watched and extract some tidbits.

I have also realized I have to get into the game of engaging on socials. Speaking my mind. Engaging in the community. I am currently in a “me” time where I have no kids, no debt, no parents to take care of, and no school for right now. My time is really my own after work and I need to capitalize more because it might not always be like that.

Can we go into the goals for the week yet?

Create TikTokS: done. Success. It was so easy to get started

Create Blogs: I am shooting these out but I haven’t posted one yet. Will try to post one this week and enter into a 2 posts per week next week at least. Get everything else online and running with some standard operating procedures.

Engage: I have created all socials needed and followed several big accounts to siphon some of their audience. Just need to run my mouth.

Create Facebook page: it took two minutes, and it was up and running. I hype up way too much in my brain.

Marketing: I haven’t shut up about it so you know how I feel.

Next week:

Engage

Marketing

Set up standard operating procedures so that I can easily replicate the pillar content and micro-content model. And then hit all goals for posting per day except 15 blogs. Work in batch work and get everything ready. Don’t be overwhelmed.

Problems for the week

Shiny object fallacy

I am starting to poke holes into the idea. I wouldn’t pay for the service myself because I enjoy doing it too much. Does it mean I shouldn’t do it? I am about to hit two hours worked per day and I don’t feel the need to work on the other project. That has made me feel so much better. I am way more excited about my current project and working on different aspects of it. My guess was right, I can’t give myself so much space without the project because this week I am so much more invested and fired up about making it work. I am also enjoying writing things about my life like this blog. Keeping track of everything. Like my cute little business diary. It feels so amazing to see the difference of last week and this week. Truly amazing.
